You should budget for $1,000 to $2,000 to buy a Yorkiepoo puppy from a reputable Indiana breeder. If the puppy has OFA-tested parents, like a Yorkiepoo puppy from Posh Puppies Indiana, the listed price will usually be between the middle and higher end of the range. Pricing varies based on coat type, color, and size. At Posh Puppies Indiana, our Yorkiepoo puppies come from OFA health-tested parents and are given daily socialization and care.

A Yorkiepoo is a cross between a purebred Yorkshire Terrier and a Toy or Miniature Poodle, and they often live 12 to 15 years of ago with proper care and nutrition. They are also called Yorkiedoodles. They combine the Yorkie's bold personality with the Poodle's intelligence and low-shedding coat.  Most Yorkiepoos weigh between 3 and 14 pounds depending on which Poodle size was used. Toy Poodle crosses produce smaller dogs in the 3 to 7 pound range. Miniature Poodle crosses produce dogs closer to 8 to 14 pounds. Coat colors include black and tan, black and white, apricot, red, cream, silver, parti, and tri-color combinations. The Yorkie's coat shifts from black and tan toward blue and gold as the dog matures, and some Yorkiepoos show a similar gradual color change.

Yorkiepoos are lively, affectionate, and smart. They get their warmth from both parent breeds and their trainability from the Poodle side. They pick up commands quickly and respond very well to short, positive training sessions with treats and praise. They are a great fit for first-time dog owners. The Yorkie side brings the confident, watchdog instinct with a tendency to bark. Yorkiepoos will alert you to visitors, sounds, and anything they find suspicious. They bond closely with their families and do not do well left alone for long stretches. Separation anxiety is a real concern for these dogs. Households where someone is home often are the best fit. Crate training from the start makes alone time much easier to build up gradually.

Yorkiepoos are low-shedding dogs, and because Yorkies and Poodles are both hypoallergenic breeds, Yorkiepoos are considered hypoallergenic as well. F1 Yorkiepoos are roughly 50/50 Poodle and Yorkshire Terrier, but F1B Yorkiepoos are more Poodle-dominant dogs wth a curlier coat and less shedding. A reputable breeder will be honest about expected coat outcomes rather than guaranteeing anything. We welcome you to schedule a visit and ask us questions about a specific Yorkiepoo before bringing a puppy home.

Yorkiepoo coats grow continuously and require regular upkeep regardless of whether they are curly or silky. Plan on brushing a few times per week using a slicker brush for detangling and a metal comb to check for knots close to the skin. We recommend daily brushing for curlier coats. Professional grooming every four to twelve weeks is recommended. Popular cuts include the Teddy Bear Cut for a soft rounded look, the Puppy Cut for short, easy maintenance, and the Schnauzer Cut to keep the coat shorter on top with longer, flowing hair around the tail and mid-levels.

Yorkiepoos can inherit conditions from both parent breeds. The most important ones to know are: Patellar luxation Legg-Calve-Perthes Disease, most often from the Yorkie side Tracheal collapse Hypoglycemia is a serious risk in toy breed puppies Shunts, a liver condition from the Yorkie side A responsible breeder tests both parents through OFA before breeding.
